What is the most important “job” in your life right now?

Inspiring women to choose themselves and building a community powered by self love. That community includes my daughters, Stella and Violet. A big part of my job as a parent is nurturing their unique natures. They may be twins, but they are night and day.

What is your key to feeling beautiful no matter how busy you are?

A Mai Tai blowout at DryBar.

What is your greatest strength?

Creating magic and connecting with others. I feel people deeply, even in the most fleeting encounters. I used to feel weighed down by this. Now that I’ve cultivated healthy boundaries, I use this strength to witness and celebrate women around the world, in both their most vulnerable and victorious moments.

Is there a hidden talent you wish you had?

I wish I was hip hop dancer. I’m working on it though, by going to hip hop fit at Your Neighborhood Dance Studio in Culver City.

What is your favorite Bellacures service?

Gelicure and Softer Soles pedicure.

Who is the best mani buddy you like to bring to Bellacures?

My daughters, Stella and Violet. I’m constantly impressed by how sure they are about their nail color selections. I still doubt myself every time.

Do you have a go-to nail polish color?

OPI, Tiramisu for Two

Best drink to go with a mani?

Fortaleza blanco tequila with a lemon wedge on a big square chunk of ice (best drink to go with everything).

Manicures and Pedicures- same time or staggered?

Same. My self care rituals come with a ticking clock. I’m working on that.

What color nail polish would you wear on vacation to Paris?

Last time I went to Paris I wore black. I fit right in.

What is the last book you read?

I’ve been on a reading binge. I’m currently in the middle of The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks (amazing) and just finished Textbook Amy Rosenthal (MUST READ) and The Rules Do Not Apply. The latter two are memoirs by incredible women, which is my favorite genre. Would love more memoir recommendations if you’re reading this and want to send me one!

Favorite blog(s) if any?

thisisnthappiness.com is a tumblr, so not quite a blog, but my daily source of creative inspiration.

Beauty product(s) you cannot live without?

Bronzer. It instantly makes me feel like a healthier, happier, more beautiful version of myself.

Your hair guru is….

Stephen Garrison at Roil Salon. He’s a genius. I went to him for color correction after my hair was fried by someone else (literally fried, they bleached my entire head!) and he has given me the most glorious hair ever since.

Drugstore or department store beauty products?

Drugstore all the way. Milani is great for lipstick, Jordana for bronzer, L’Oreal for mascara (Voluminous). The only thing I would say should come from a department store is foundation, which I don’t wear regularly. I do rely on NARS for blush though.

Best way to stay youthful looking?

Love yourself. Seriously. When you practice self love and self care, the years fall off you.

Who is your style icon?

Solange Knowles. She’s on fire lately.

What is your favorite type of pie? Do you prefer plain or a la mode?

Chocolate. Plain, and never heated. Desert should be served cold and hard.

What charity(ies) is closest to your heart?

My husband is the VP of Content at Omaze, an incredible tech startup that partners with celebrities to raise money for charity. As a result I’ve been exposed to and have contributed to a ton of charities I otherwise would never have had the opportunity to connect with, like Seth Rogen’s Hilarity for Charity, which raises money for Alzheimer’s research. I’m also a big advocate of charities that focus on empowering and serving women, like Planned Parenthood and The United State of Women.

Favorite SNL skit of all time?

Alec Baldwin as Trump is wonderful and horrifying at the same time. The line between what’s real and parody has become so blurred watching SNL sometimes isn’t all that different from watching the news. God help us.

Who has the best coffee in LA?

Groundworks. I love their Black Magic and Sumatra.

Camping or glamping?

Camping. If you’re going to do it, do it.*
*Though when I say camping, I mean beach camping with a bathroom nearby. That counts, right?

Buy a cake or make one?

Both. It depends on the goal. If I’m trying to have fun with my kids, bake. If I’m trying to make my life simper, buy. As a working mom, keeping it simple is something I’ve really learned to embrace.

TV show you can binge watch.

House of Cards is the show I’ve binged on the most. It feeds my inner conspiracy theorist.
